Welcome to the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency website.

This site is intended to provide you with a brief overview of Crawford County's Emergency Management Agency's ("EMA") mission and goals as well as useful information to help you prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters that tend to affect each of us at one time or another.

In short, the Crawford County EMA’s mission is to coordinate the preparation for, response to, recovery from and mitigation against a host of potential hazards and threats that may affect the citizens of Crawford County.

The goal is to provide coordination for the many public and private resources that are engaged during large scale incidents and disasters.  Where possible, methods are sought to prevent or mitigate loss and damage to public and private assets.

In doing so, the Crawford County EMA implements the Emergency Operations Plan in coordinating emergency response and recovery organizations.  EMA also seeks to use available means to educate the public to prepare for disasters of many kinds.

Crawford County is qualified for the Federal Performance Partnership Agreement which ensures the county remains eligible for federal public and individual assistance in the event of a disaster.  In short, “public” assistance means funding to repair and/or restore publicly-owned assets to their pre-disaster condition while “individual” assistance means funding to repair and/or restore our citizens’ assets to their pre-disaster condition.  The type of federal assistance available depends on whether a Presidential Declaration is made and what type is approved.

As site is developed, please send suggestions for enhancements to this website that may benefit the great citizens of Crawford County by sending an email to ema@pstel.net .
