Crawford News, EMA News|

We are proud to announce Crawford County has two new outdoor warning sirens. This brings the total to eight sirens located throughout the county. These additional sirens were purchased with a grant from Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG), which covered 75% of the installation cost. We would like to remind residents; outdoor warning sirens should not be the only source to receive weather warnings. Other sources include local media, NOAA weather radios and smartphone apps. Crawford County also offers it’s residents CodeRed, a severe weather notification service. Visit www.crawfordcountyga.org for details on how to sign up.

Thanks to our elected officials, community partners and residents, Crawford County was recently recognized as a Storm Ready Community.
