Crawford County is accepting applications for a Board Member to serve on The Workforce Development Board.

The Workforce Development Board develops the local plan/regional plan. They conduct workforce research and regional labor market analysis. They also lead employer engagement with other entities to promote business representation on the board, support utilization of the workforce system and workforce investment activities, meet business needs, support economic growth, and develop/implement proven/promising strategies to meet the skill needs and expand employment and career advancement in in-demand industry sectors and occupations.

Board Member Requirements

  1. Be an owner, chief executive officer, chief operating officer, or other individual with optimum policy-making or hiring authority.
  2. Provide employment opportunities in in-demand industry sectors or occupations, and provide high-quality, work relevant training and development opportunities to its workforce or the workforce of others,
  3. Are appointed from among individuals nominated by local business organizations and business trade associations.
  4. Attend 6 scheduled board meetings. The board meeting schedule will be published for the entire year at the beginning of the fiscal year.

 

Meeting Times: Workforce Board meets on 3rd Tuesday of every other month, rotating between Jones and Houston Counties, at 12:00p.m. Lunch is provided and each meeting and last approximately two (2) hours.
