Zoning Administrator

Job Summary: This position is responsible for handling of the administration of zoning and must have a high level of knowledge regarding ordinances and building codes. This position is also responsible for all other necessary tasks required of the Planning and Zoning Department and must be able to answer questions concerning the department and procedures to inquiring citizens. This position reports directly to the County Manager. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Administers provisions of ordinances
  • Issue permits
  • Enforce provisions of ordinances
  • Issues business licenses
  • Issues property numbers
  • Schedules meeting with Planning and Zoning
  • Records minutes for Planning and Zoning
  • Inspects properties


Job Requirements:

Qualified applicants must possess an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university or two years’ experience in planning and zoning environment, code enforcement and residential building inspections. Required certifications include Zoning Administrator Certification, Master Electricians License, Residential Inspector Certification, and Commercial Inspector Certification. Applicant must submit to a background check and must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia.
